Rais Paul Kagame na Rais Magufuli kuzindua Kwibuka22 katika Kigali Genocide Memorial

Rais Paul Kagame na mwenzake, Dk John Joseph Pombe Magufuli, Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania, leo wameanza maadhimisho ya kila mwaka ya Mauaji ya Kimbari dhidi ya watutsi na wakawasha mwanga wa kumkumbuka hapo Kigali Genocide Memorial jijini Kigali.

Adhimisho lilianzishwa na marais na familia zao walipo weka maua kwenye makaburi ya halaiki zaidi ya 250,000. Rais Kagame na Rais Magufuli baadaye waliwasha mwanga wa Kumbukumbu. Mwanga huyu ni ishara ya ujasiri na matumaini vya Wanyarwanda tangu Mauaji ya Kimbari dhidi Watutsi.

Akizungumzia mandhari ya mwaka huu, Dk Jean-Damascène Bizimana, Katibu Mtendaji wa Tume ya Taifa ya Kupambana dhidi ya mauaji ya kimbari, alitoa wito kwa Wanyarwanda kukataa itikadi ya mauaji ya kimbari katika maisha yao ya kila siku.

“Kupambana na itikadi ya mauaji ya kimbari inawezekana. Hapa nchini Rwanda, tumechagua kufanya hivyo – leo, kesho na katika siku zijazo. Ni wajibu wetu wote serikali, wananchi, vyama vya kiraia na sekta binafsi. Hebu sasa tukae imara kama tunakumbuka na kuendelea kupambana na itikadi ya mauaji ya kimbari wakati wa Kwibuka22 na baadaye,” Dk Bizimana alisema.

Dr Bizimana alichukua nafasi kushukuru serikali ya Ujerumani na mataifa mengine kwa ajili ya kuleta wahusika wa mauaji ya kimbari kwa haki, lakini alilaani nchi ambazo bado hazijaleta wahusika wa mauaji hayo kwa haki.

“Watu zaidi ya milioni moja waliuawa katika mauaji ya kimbari dhidi ya Watutsi, hawa ni wale ambao waliojulikana. Kila mmoja wao alikuwa na jina. Kila mmoja wao alikuwa mpendwa,” Dk Bizimana alisisitiza.

Baada ya adhimisho, Rais Magufuli na mkewe Janet Magufuli walitembelea nyumba ya kumbusho ya mauwaji ya kimbali, hapa akiwa na Rais Kagame, mkewe Jeannette Kagame na Binti yao Ange Kagame. Ziara hiyo iliwapa Rais Magufuli na Mkewe Janet fursa ya kujifunza kuhusu historia ya mauaji ya kimbari dhidi ya Watutsi.

“Historia ya Rwanda ni somo kwa dunia na moja inayoweza kutupa fundisho. Naombea waathirika na Wanyarwanda wote. Hatuwezi kubadilisha yaliyopita, lakini tunaweza kufanya kitu leo na kesho ili ‘Kamwe tena’ iwe ukweli,” Rais Magufuli alisema hayo baada ya kusaini katika kitabu cha wageni.

Maadhimisho matukio ya Kwibuka22 yatafanyika Rwanda na duniani kote kwa mdaa wa miezi mitatu, na ikiwemo kwenye Kigali Genocide Memorial.
