The Ubumuntu Arts Festival returns to the Amphitheatre at the Kigali Genocide Memorial for its 10th edition this July – this year running 18th to 28th instead of the usual three. A joyous celebration of arts and humanity, this year’s theme is ‘Integrity: Resilience In The Face Of Adversity’.
The Festival is curated by the irrepressible Hope Azeda, McNulty Prize Laureate and founder of the Mashirika Performing Arts Media Company.
The line-up for 2024 has yet to be announced, but past years have seen dance, music, theatre and film productions brought together from across Rwanda, East Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the Indian subcontinent and North America.
A highlight of Kigali’s cultural calendar, the Ubumuntu Arts Festival remains free to attend, but welcomes donations. Find out more about the Festival and its past editions at https://ubumuntuartsfestival.com.
