A group composed by Religious leaders and cooperatives’ representatives from the Rwimiyaga Sector, Nyagatare District, visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial to remember the victims of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.

Led by Emmanuel Muyango, the Executive of Rwimiyaga Sector, the group laid wreaths on the mass graves, which are the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the 1994 Genocide. They continued their visit by touring the memorial’s exhibition to learn more about the history of the Genocide in Rwanda and the importance of fighting Genocide ideology.

“I wish all of us could have come here. I have seen the hatred expressed while killing the innocent children who knew nothing during the Genocide against the Tutsi. This exhibition really touched me. We, young generation, we have to prevent what happened from happening again.” Pastor Jean Nsanzamahoro, ADEPR.

“People were taught discrimination and division hate but today, t unity is the pillar of better and strong economy. By learning from the history especially through prioritizing unity, all Rwandans will live peacefully. For this to happen, every Rwandan should take part in fighting against Genocide ideology.” Emmanuel Muyango, Executive of Rwimiyaga Sector.
