Rwanda’s Private Sector Federation staff and members visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for Kwibuka22

On 15 April 2016, over 500 Private Sector Federation (PSF) staff and members visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial for Kwibuka22, the 100 days commemoration period for the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The Private Sector Federation brings together members working for business across Rwanda.

The delegation first met at Kinamba in Gisozi where they marched together to the memorial. Upon reaching, the group, led by Chairman Benjamin Gasamagera, laid wreaths on the burial place, which is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide. The group observed a moment of silence to remember and pay respect to victims of Genocide against the Tutsi.

Later the PSF Board Members toured the memorial exhibitions to learn about the history of the Genocide and the country’s reconciliation initiatives.

Before leaving the memorial, the Chairman also left the message in the guestbook.

“The Private Sector Federation is together with all Rwandans during this commemoration period. We will do whatever it can cost in order to stop genocide from happening again.”
