Help Us Champion Humanity Beyond The Classroom
#GivingTuesday
Help raise future generations that value humanity this #GivingTuesday.
We need to reach $10,000 in 9 days to support parents in Rwanda. Your contribution goes straight to work helping 100 parents to attend our Peace and Values Education program.
Peace and Values Education is already taught in the Rwandan national school curriculum. Educating parents will help create parallel messages of peace in school and at home.

“One of the take away from this workshop is that building peace is possible when parents prioritize their role in raising a future nation that values humanity. I have been challenged again to strive to be a good role model to my children because they learn a lot from me more than what they learn out there in schools. Since now the school curricula combines’ history and citizenship, as a representative of parents in my community, I will build on that to emphasize the culture that fosters social cohesion and harmony in our society”.

President of IPRC West Parents Committee

“Train a child the way he should go and make sure you also go the same way.”
Peace and Values Education
Peace and Values education is already taught in the Rwandan national school curriculum. By educating parents and community leaders, we are helping create parallel messages of peace taught in schools and at home.
At home, students often report receiving Rwandan history in contradiction to what they learn at school, and are confronted with different values. Parents have also expressed that they are not well-equipped with the knowledge, skills or confidence to talk about their own history with their children. The one-day parents’ workshop explores, through group discussions, the history of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi providing tools to exercise critical thinking about the process of destruction and its consequences. Also through group activities, we explore the process of parenting to the development of positive attitudes and values in our children.
Since Aegis new training programme for Parents as Educators, there are 3 groups of parents in our Karongi Peace School, and 3 groups of parents in Kigali Peace School (30 parents per group).
Our goal for this year’s #GivingTuesday is to launch a month long campaign to raise $10,000 to sponsor 100 parents to attend our Peace Education program.
$100 sponsors one parent to attend an entire one-day of the Peace and Values Education Program
Any contribution would be a catalyst for changing hearts and minds, and Champion Humanity.
