Support Remembrance

The Kigali Genocide Memorial is a place where survivors and the family and friends of victims come to remember their loved ones killed in the Genocide against the Tutsi. The memorial has a quiet place in the remembrance section that displays photographs of genocide victims. These family photos were donated by survivors, relatives or friends, or collected from across the country by the memorial team.

Your support would help us to expand our victim photograph collection efforts and preserve these important historical records so that more survivors like Christian have a place they can come to remember those they lost.

“This room is a home away from home for me. I come here to remember my family, my mother, my father… all of them. I come here as often as I can, and I stay as long as can. I’m glad to know that this place also feels like home to others too. Our lost families and friends are with us here.”
